About Your Dentist
Madhu Mahadevan, DDS
Hello. My name is Madhu Mahadevan. I was born and raised in the Detroit area, growing up in a city called Riverview. I attended college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and continued there for my dental training (GO BLUE!) I completed by dental degree in 2001 and have been working in the Detroit area ever since. As much as people complain about Michigan, I have always loved being here, enjoying the changing seasons and dealing with our terrible sports teams!
So why dentistry, one may ask? The reason I became a dentist is I feel that in dentistry, we can help people change their lives for the better. I believe we can do this by (1) educating people on the importance of how great oral health leads to great overall health, (2) improving one's self-confidence with high level esthetic treatment, (3) providing a lifetime of dental care in an ethical professional environment, and (4) ensuring that each person has a world class experience! The best part is that I feel that in our office, we can do this, and still have a great time!
In order to stay at the top of my game, I have always strived to educate myself on the latest and greatest in dentistry. I am one of very few dentists in Southeastern Michigan to have received my fellowship status from the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), where I learned the most contemporary treatment in dental esthetics, temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and sleep apnea. I have taken further training in orthodontics* at the Center for Occlusal Studies in West Virginia and have gained Gold Level certification in Invisalign therapy. I have implant training through the Advanced Implant Education group, doing a live training in Mexico, and through the ILAPEO Implant Institute in Brazil. I also have my laser certification. My goal is to be your one-stop shop for all oral concerns and that is why I continue to take courses in all facets of dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Amisha, and our three children. I also enjoy golfing, though I'm not good! I love reading biographies, books on history, and ancient Indian scripture. I'm a big fan of my Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Tigers.
I look forward to meeting you and being your oral health care partner.
Thank you.
